39 students earn perfect scores, and an additional 37 students score 4 out of 5!
This year we fielded five teams in the MOEMS Division E contest: two combined Level 4 and Level 5 Teams, a Level 3 Team, and two combined Levels 1 and 2 Teams. In January, our teams competed in the third meet, and did amazingly well:
- One of our combined level 4 and 5 teams earned a perfect score of 50 points
- Our other combined level 4 and 5 team scored 46/50
- Our level 3 team scored 42/50
- Our combined level 1 and 2 teams scored 42 and 40 points, respectively
Individually, students averaged 3.59 out of 5, compared to 1.79 national average! With that national average, this test was incredibly difficult this time around. Typically, the average is more around 2.0 points. It’s even more impressive that we had 39 perfect scores (nearly 30% of our students), and half of our students got 4 or more points. Here are the averages by grade on our team compared with the national averages (the difference is shown in parenthesis):
- Grade <= 4: 3.44 vs 1.37 (+2.07 — a huge differential!)
- Grade 5: 3.62 vs 1.86 (+1.76)
- Grade 6: 3.82 vs 2.22 (+1.60)
Congratulations to Aditi G, Alex Z*, Andy W, Ari S, Armaan M*, Avinash B, Bella L, Bella L, Charlie M, Charlotte O*, Cheluchi C, Daniel G*, Dylan T, Edward J*, Ethan J, Ethan S, Gus M*, Heather W, Henry X*, (Isaac S), Jake I, James B, John P, John X*, Joshua K, Kamil T, Ken W, Kristen H*, Leo R*, Leo S, Lincoln S*, (Luke Z)*, Natalie F, Patrick C*, Rich L, Rohan J, Samuel H*, (Silu C)*, and William W* who all earned perfect scores! (All students in parentheses are in 2nd or 3rd grade, which is amazing!!). The students with * next to their name have so far earned perfect scores on all three of our MOEMS-E meets. They could possibly earn the highest MOEMS award – The George Lenchner’s Medal.
We are so proud of our students!!
