Four students earn perfect scores; 28 students score 4 out of 5!
In February, our teams competed in the fourth meet of the MOEMS Division E contest. While the meet was overall typical in difficulty, the last problem was very tricky and only 4% of students nationally solved it. The problem proved challenging for our students too – only 9% got it correct.
The sixth grade teams earned 42 and 33 points out of 50 respectively, the fifth grade team scored 39, and the fourth grade teams scored 32 and 25 points respectively. The first three teams are on track to exceed the Highest Team Achievement Award threshold, while both fourth grade teams are tracking for the Meritorious Team Achievement Award for top fourth grade teams.
Individually, students averaged 3.2 out of 5, compared to 2.2 national average! Congratulations to David C, Michael A, Richard C, and Sabrina T who earned perfect scores! Alex J, Atharva N, Hayden C, Kavin B, Max Z, Peter D, and Sachin R are among a select group of fourth graders who scored 4 out of 5!
