MOEMS-M Meet 3 Results

4 students earn perfect scores; 9 students score 4 out of 5!

In January, our students competed in the third meet of the MOEMS Division M contest with great success. This year, we fielded two teams. Students are placed on a team based on the first letter of their first name, so that the teams are roughly the same in strength.

After three meets, the team standings are as follows:

  • Team A-Ja has scored 117 points.
  • Team Jo-Z has scored 135 points.

Both of our teams are on track for top team awards in their age groups!

Individually, students averaged 2.74 out of 5, compared to 1.63 national average! That low of a national average means that this was an incredibly challenging contest. Here are the averages by grade on our team compared with the national averages (the difference is shown in parenthesis):

  • Grade <= 5: 3.44 vs 1.55 (+1.89)
  • Grade 6: 2.34 vs 1.55 (+1.89)
  • Grade 7: 2.88 vs 1.56 (+1.32)

These students received perfect scores on this meet: (John X), Leo S, (Silu C), and William W. The following students earned 4 out of 5, which is an exceptional score on this very difficult test: Charlotte O, Daniel G, Drake R, (James B), (James S), John P, (Luke Z), (Nathaniel Z), and Rich L.

Also, a special congratulations to (John X) and Leo S, who have both earned perfect scores on ALL THREE of these incredibly challenging meets

All students in parentheses are in 5th grade or younger, which is amazing!!
