About Aleksandra Labuda

Aleksandra Labuda was born in Poland, in Gdansk, a city with over 1,000 years of history. From an early age, she was fascinated by mathematics and learning about its secrets. When she was in middle school, she started tutoring younger kids who appreciated the flexibility in her teaching approach and the continuous search for better and simpler ways to reach each student.

Aleksandra continued her work as a tutor during high school and her studies at the Gdansk University of Technology, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering and a Master’s degree in Economics and Management. After graduation, she worked for two international companies as Public Relations Manager and Marketing Manager.

In 2005, Aleksandra moved to the United States. She lives in Romeoville, IL. She continues tutoring students who have problems with understanding math’s aspects, and her real passion is teaching children who have a hunger for mathematics and want to raise the level of their expertise and knowledge.

Aleksandra believes that in a healthy body, there is a healthy mind. Therefore, she enjoys exercising not only her brain but also her body. She coaches people about the positive aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, she loves traveling. Visiting 6 out of 7 continents (Antarctica is a bit too cold) and all seven of the New Wonders of the World are on her bucket list.

“Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, or algorithms: it is about UNDERSTANDING.” (William Paul Thurston)
