Tasha Christensen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brigham Young University-Hawaii with a double major in International Business Education and Secondary Education. After graduating, she taught high school business in Hawaii for a couple years before teaching and being an administrator at a rigorous online private school. She has led student groups to be finalists in various business plan and investment competitions, including a global investment competition with Wharton School of Business.
Tasha received her Master’s in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Gifted, Creativity, and Talent Development from The University of Connecticut. As one of the few teachers in Illinois with the Gifted Educator endorsement, she has also taught as a gifted specialist in West Chicago, Illinois. Tasha is now the math coordinator for a K-8 charter school in Pleasant Grove, Utah where she is working to build a math program that revolves around the idea that math is all around us and integrated into every subject area…we just have to find it and harness its power. Tasha also started tutoring math when she was in high school, realizing at that point that she has a knack for making connections and explaining difficult concepts.
When she’s not teaching or tutoring, Tasha is performing music. She plays a variety of instruments and even sings professionally. She also loves the outdoors. She, her husband, and their five children love to visit National Parks and explore the world.
