Tryouts

You must fill and submit the form below to participate in the tryouts.

We welcome students nationwide who will be in Grades 2 through 7 in the 2022-2023 school year (including homeschoolers). We also accept some very advanced rising first graders. Classes meet weekly for 60 minutes, September through May. We offer many virtual classes for each level so students can find the time suitable to their schedule and time zone. We also offer some in-person classes in Downers Grove, IL.

To be enrolled, your child must participate in the tryouts and show above-grade-level analytical reasoning abilities. The purpose of the tryouts is to identify students who are ready for the program and place them to the correct level. We want to make sure that the kids are properly challenged and are successful. Our students enjoy classes “more than video games” and do not feel overwhelmed and frustrated.

Most tryout sessions will be held virtually via proctored Zoom sessions in May-June. To be invited, each student must participate in two tryout sessions, during which they will be presented with various fun math problems and puzzles of varying difficulty. We have seven teachers and 20+ teacher assistants, so we make sure that the tryouts are not too stressful and each student gets personal attention when they need it.

Please, fill the form below to register for a virtual tryout session. All virtual sessions in May are now full. If none of the remaining dates work for you, choose the option “None of these times work for me” and we will contact you if any spots in the other sessions open up.

If you submit the form but do not receive an email confirmation within 72 hours, or if you have any questions, please, contact Mr. Math or our Program Administrator.

  • What interest do they have in math? Are they in an accelerated math class school? Have they participated in math contests? Anything else you think is relevant.
