What You'll Do

  • Lead problem-solving sessions using pre-selected problems.
  • Guide student thinking by offering hints and explanations, when needed.
  • Encourage student participation and effective communication among students.
  • Document student progress and knowledge gaps.
  • Run fun internal contests (like Math Jeopardy).

About Deep Divers

Deep Divers program targets advanced students who have already learned many in-depth contest math topics and are willing to work hard to achieve greater success in MathCounts,  AMC-8, AMC-10 and beyond. It is designed to identify and fill the gaps in students’ knowledge and understanding of advanced contest math topics.

  • Weekly 60-minute sessions from September through May, with breaks for holidays and math competitions.
  • Sessions are held on weekdays at 4:45pm, 6:00pm, or 7:15pm CT.
  • Led by a team of 8 Coaches and 25+ Assistant Coaches, including many USA(J)MO qualifiers and 3 MOP qualifiers.
  • Students are talented middle and high schoolers with a history of success in math contests.
  • Assistant Coaches are paid between $27.50-$32.50 per hourly session, depending on their tenure. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we also offer a volunteer option.
