Deep Divers - Level Y
Curriculum

Students in the Deep Divers program Level Y have already learned many in-depth high-school pre-Olympiad contest math topics – usually those covered in the “Intermediate” series of Art of Problem Solving books and similar. Our sessions are designed to identify and fill the gaps in students’ knowledge and understanding of those math topics. The program syllabus has a two-year rotation, so that students can participate two years in a row without an overlap. In 2025-2026 (“Year 1”), we will cover the following topics:

  • Unit 1. Algebra. Advanced Polynomials
  • Unit 2. Geometry. Advanced Plane Geometry
  • Unit 3. C&P. Conditional Probability, Expected Values, Problems with States
  • Unit 4. Algebra. Telescoping, Recursion, Functional Equations
  • Unit 5. Geometry. Advanced 3-D Geometry

In 2026-2027 (“Year 2”), we will cover the following topics:

  • Unit 1. Algebra. Functions
  • Unit 2. C&P. Advanced Counting
  • Unit 3. Geometry. Analytical Geometry
  • Unit 4. NT. Diophantine Equations, FLT
  • Unit 5. Algebra. Various Advanced Topics

The problems that we work on range from mid-to-late-AMC-10 to mid-AIME level of difficulty.
