Deep Divers - Level X
Curriculum

Students in the Deep Divers program Level X have already learned many in-depth middle school contest math topics – those covered in the “Introduction” series of Art of Problem Solving books and similar. Our sessions are designed to identify and fill the gaps in students’ knowledge and understanding of those math topics. The program syllabus has a two-year rotation, so that students can participate two years in a row without an overlap. In 2025-2026 (“Year 1”), we will cover the following topics:

  • Unit 1. C&P. Counting Techniques
  • Unit 2. Geometry. Triangles and Trigonometry
  • Unit 3. Algebra. Intro to Polynomials and Advanced Equations
  • Unit 4. Geometry. Polygons
  • Unit 5. NT. Modular Arithmetic and Base Systems

In 2026-2027 (“Year 2”), we will cover the following topics:

  • Unit 1. Algebra. Sequences, Fractions, Various Formulas
  • Unit 2. C&P. Partitions and Combinations
  • Unit 3. Geometry. Cevians and Circles
  • Unit 4. C&P. Probabilities
  • Unit 5. Geometry. Intro to 3-D Geometry

The problems that we work on range from mid-AMC-8 to mid-to-late-AMC-10 level of difficulty.
