MOEMS-E Meet 1 Results

In November, our students competed in the first meet of the MOEMS Division E contest with great success. All our teams are on track for top team awards in their age groups! This year we fielded fourteen teams: two Grade 1-3 teams, five Grade 4 teams, four Grade 5 teams, and three Grade 6 teams. Students within each grade group are placed on a team based on the first letter of their first name, so that the teams are roughly the same in strength.

• Grade 1-3 Team A-H earned 43 points.
• Grade 3 Team A-Y earned 42 points.
• Grade 4 Team A-At earned 44 points.
• Grade 4 Team Au-Et earned 42 points
• Grade 4 Team Ev-Ka earned 49 points out of 50 possible points, putting them only one point from a perfect score!
• Grade 4 Team Ke-O earned 45 points.
• Grade 4 Team R-Z earned 45 points.
• Grade 5 Team A-C earned 49 points out of 50 possible points, putting them only one point from a perfect score!
• Grade 5 Team D-I earned 45 points.‍
• Grade 5 Team J-N earned a perfect score of 50 points!‍
• Grade 5 Team O-Z earned 47 points.
• Grade 6 Team A-F earned 49 points out of 50 possible points, putting them only one point from a perfect score!‍
• Grade 6 Team G-N earned a perfect score of 50 points!
• Grade 6 Team O-Z earned a perfect score of 50 points!

Individually, students averaged 3.85 out of 5, compared to 2.32 national average! Here are the averages by grade on our team compared with the national averages (the difference is shown in parenthesis):

• Grade <= 3: 3.39 vs 1.54 (+1.85)
• Grade 4: 3.66 vs 1.76 (+1.90)
• Grade 5: 4.05 vs 2.51 (+1.54)
• Grade 6: 4.22 vs 2.86 (+1.36)
