MOEMS-E Meet 3 Results

In January, our students competed in the third meet of the MOEMS Division E contest with great success. All our teams are on track for top team awards in their age groups!

This year we fielded fourteen teams: two Grade 1-3 teams, five Grade 4 teams, four Grade 5 teams, and three Grade 6 teams. Students within each grade group are placed on a team based on the first letter of their first name, so that the teams are roughly the same in strength.

• • Grade 1-3 Team A-H earned 39 points.
  • Grade 3 Team A-Y earned 36 points.
  • Grade 4 Team A-At earned 33 points.
  • Grade 4 Team Au-Et earned 39 points
  • Grade 4 Team Ev-Ka earned 42 points.
  • Grade 4 Team Ke-O earned 36 points.
  • Grade 4 Team R-Z earned 36 points.
  • Grade 5 Team A-C earned 39 points.
  • Grade 5 Team D-I earned 43 points.
  • Grade 5 Team J-N earned 43 points.
  • Grade 5 Team O-Z earned 40 points.
  • Grade 6 Team A-F earned 43 points.
  • Grade 6 Team G-N earned 45 points.
  • Grade 6 Team O-Z earned 41 points.

Individually, students averaged 3.27 out of 5, compared to 1.49 national average! Here are the averages by grade on our team compared with the national averages (the difference is shown in parenthesis):

• • Grade <= 3: 2.92 vs 1.31 (+1.61)
  • Grade 4: 2.95 vs 1.17 (+1.78)
  • Grade 5: 3.41 vs 1.53 (+1.88)
  • Grade 6: 3.77 vs 1.84 (+1.93)
