Nate Maydanchik is a freshman at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has been fascinated with math since the age of four and started competing in math contests in first grade. He was the Illinois State MathCounts Champion and finished 12th in National MathCounts in eighth grade, following his 2nd and 7th place finishes in Illinois State MathCounts in sixth and seventh grade. Nate is a six-time AIME qualifier and qualified for USAJMO as a high school freshman.

Nate loves teaching math even more than doing it himself. He has tutored since his freshman year in high school. In 2022, he started the Adventures with Mr. Math Rising Stars program. He participated as a mentor for three years while managing the program, and continues to run the program today. Nate also developed curriculum for Adventures with Mr. Math Deep Divers program, and will be a Deep Divers teacher starting in 2025.

In his free time, Nate plays golf, basketball, and pickleball and enjoys playing classical music on the piano.
