Varya was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Her family instilled in her a love of math puzzles. She graduated from a Math and Physics High School and earned her Master’s in Applied Math from St. Petersburg Technical University. She has been working in software development ever since.

In her free time, Varya loves reading and being outdoors. She has many happy memories camping, hiking, and skiing with her family.
