2023-24 CML Summary

10 Mr. Math teams and 47 students individually are National CML Champions

Adventures with Mr. Math students did exceptionally well this year in the CML competition:

  • 10 of our teams are National Champions with perfect team scores (which is 45% of only 22 nationwide)
  • 18 out of our 21 teams are in Top-10 in their divisions
  • 47 of our students are National Champions with perfect individual scores (28% of 165 total)

Below are the detailed results. Note that we split our students alphabetically into teams of 20-25 to avoid “super teams.” Also, CML Grade 4 and Grade 5 have two divisions – Euclidean and Pythagorean. We enter all our teams in the harder, Pythagorean, division:

  • Grade 2:
    • All three of our teams are National Champions (or 50% of only six total)
    • 14 students earned perfect scores and are National Champions (or 29% of 48 total)
  • Grade 3:
    • All five of our teams are National Champions (or 45% of only 11 total)
    • 25 students earned perfect scores and are National Champions (30% of 83 total)
  • Grade 4:
    • Three teams are Regional Champions, and tied for 3rd place Nationally. Six teams are in Top-10
    • Four students earned perfect scores and are National Champions (24% of 17 total)
  • Grade 5:
    • Two teams are National Champions (or 50% of only four total). Four teams are in Top-10
    • Four students earned perfect scores and are National Champions (22% of 18 total)

Here are our Individual National Champions (all of whom earned perfect scores):
